Advertising to Vote?
I was driving down the street in LA and I have noticed that the County Registrar has purchased billboard and bus-stop ads encouraging people to register to vote and if already registered to go and vote. Perhaps this is the first step in encouraging people to go and vote. I will post a picture from my phone as soon as possible.

Have you not seen the HUGE campaign from "Rock the Vote"?
Thats not our tax dollars at work, thats a non-profit, non-governmental.
Neither is this.
It's your COUNTY. There are programs like that throughout the country, but I don't think it has reached even the State level much less the national one.
Well, California due to its large size (The population of Los Angeles County alone would make it the 9th largest state in population) utilizes the county in a more significant role than any other state. Therefore it is our taxpayer dollars at work, and is very comparable to the state level. There would be no national election push because we don't have any national elections. Even the presidential election, while for a national office, is really each person voting for their states electoral votes, there is not a "national registrar".
